Let’s be honest: the online world is loud, to say the least.

New businesses launch daily. Everyone seems to be selling something. So, how do you stand out, especially when you feel like you're just starting?

Good news: standing out doesn’t require a massive budget or a team of experts. But it does require clarity, consistency, and the courage to show up.

Whether you’re building your personal brand or launching a business from scratch, today’s ProfitZine breaks down the essentials of creating a brand that gets noticed.

Find Your Core Message (And Stick to It)

You don’t need to be everything to everyone. In fact, the more specific your message, the more people it resonates with.

What do you want to be known for?

What are you here to help people with?

That’s your core message, and it should be obvious in everything you post, write, or create.

“People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.” — Simon Sinek

→ Write a one-sentence version of your brand’s purpose.Ex: “I help people escape the 9-5 and build a life they actually like.”Repeat it everywhere: your bio, emails, posts, and offers.

Use Visuals to Create Recognition

You don’t need a designer right away. But you do need visual consistency.Think: same colors, fonts, and style across everything you put out.

This helps people recognize you in a scroll. And recognition builds trust.

“A brand is not just what it looks like and feels like. A brand is what it makes people feel.” — Jeff Bezos

→ Choose 2–3 brand colors and 1–2 fonts you’ll use consistently.Use free apps to create templates for posts, Reels covers, or Stories.

Make It About Your People

Your brand is not really about you; It’s about the people you serve.

Use their language. Address their struggles. Share stories they relate to.You become memorable when your audience feels understood.

“The most powerful brand messages are the ones that speak directly to people’s hearts.”

→ Talk to your audience. Ask them what they’re struggling with. Read their comments. Use their words in your content.

Show Up Before You Feel Ready

You don’t need permission. You don’t need to wait until it’s “perfect.”The brands that stand out are the ones that start showing up.

That awkward first post? That shaky first video? That weird first logo?

It’s all part of it.

“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” — Zig Ziglar

→ Post something about your mission or values this week. Even if it feels early. You’re building in public. That’s what makes people trust you.

Last Thoughts:

You don’t need a background in branding to build something powerful.

You just need a clear message, a consistent look, a deep connection to your audience, and the guts to show up.

Start with what you have.

It’s not about looking “professional.”

It’s about being real, relevant, and ready to grow.

You’ve got this. And if you need help along the way, I’m here.

To standing out (your way)
