- The Truth About Success: What No One Tells You On Making It Big
Let’s talk about something most online “gurus” won’t: The truth about what it really takes to build a business, grow a side hustle, or “make it big.” While the internet is full of hype, highlight reels, and “easy” formulas, the reality? Success is messier. And it looks different for everyone. If you’re building something, or thinking about it, today’s edition is for you. Success Takes Longer Than You Think Despite what overnight success stories suggest, most people take years to “succeed.” That course that blew up? That newsletter with 100k readers? That freelancer making 6 figures? They all started with crickets, self-doubt, and tiny wins that didn’t feel like much. That’s the normal path to success, so don’t be fooled. If you don’t see results right away, it doesn’t mean you’re failing, it just means you’re normal, and are on your way to success. And is there something you can do to speed up the process? Sure, if you can afford some software here and there and specially some mentors along the way, that will really help you to shorten the path to success so to speak. “Most people overestimate what they can do in a day and underestimate what they can do in a year.” — Bill Gates → Choose a 12-month horizon instead of a 12-day one. Revisit your expectations and commit to long games over shortcuts. You’ll Fail (A Lot) and That’s the Point Failure isn’t the opposite of success, it’s just part of it. Every entrepreneur has launched something that flopped, worked with a client that ghosted, or followed a plan that went nowhere. Just last week, I had a meeting with a client that came to me out of the blue and then he did not even showed up for the meeting he booked… These things happened so don’t get discourage. It is just less 1 obstacle to go. The key is not avoiding failure, it’s learning how to keep going. The real problem? Most people give up before the data gets good, and giving up is truly the incurable mistake that blocks your path to success completely. “Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” — Winston Churchill → Reframe failure as data. Ask: What did I learn? What would I do differently next time? Discipline Beats Motivation The people who win aren’t always the most talented, confident, or even inspired. They’re the ones who keep showing up. Discipline is doing what matters even when you don’t feel like it.And that, over time, is what builds something real. I know I talk about this a lot, but I feel I have to because it is so easy to forget that motivation is garbage, after you take action and you evolve you get motivated so waiting on motivation is like waiting on death. Sorry for the tough love but success is not for the weak. It’s great but also heavy, complex and if you depend on motivation you will never reach it. “You will never always be motivated. You have to learn to be disciplined.” → Don’t wait to feel motivated. Set systems that support consistency (e.g. writing one hour per day, sending one pitch per week). Freedom Requires Structure Here’s the paradox: most people start a side hustle or business for more freedom…And then feel frustrated when they’re overwhelmed, scattered, or burned out. The truth? Freedom doesn’t come from doing whatever you want, whenever. It comes from building habits, boundaries, and systems that create space. It all starts with a vision, divided by goals, divided by steps, and that gives you the actions you need to take to someday get the freedom that you want. Until there, just keep going, don’t give up, and don’t forget to enjoy the ride “Discipline is the key to freedom.” — Jocko Willink → Protect your energy. Set working hours. Use a simple workflow. Create “off” time, even if you're your own boss. Last Thoughts: If no one told you before, here it is: Success is slower, harder, and more emotional than most people admit. But it’s also more rewarding, more freeing, and more within reach than you think. This isn’t about luck or genius. It’s about showing up, building with intention, and trusting the process, even when it’s quiet. You’ve got this. Your Turn: →What truth about success have you learned the hard way? Reply to this email. → Share this with a friend building something too, we all need honest encouragement. See you in a week. Your Zine.
- The Psychology of Money: How Your Mindset Affects Your Wealth
When it comes to building wealth, most people think it starts with strategy, saving, investing, or side hustling. And it’s all part of it, but underneath all of that? Your mindset. How you think about money affects how you earn it, keep it, and grow it. If your beliefs are rooted in fear, scarcity, or guilt, no spreadsheet in the world will fix that. So this week, it’s all about the psychology of money (not the book): why it matters, how it shapes your financial reality, and how to upgrade your mindset to match the wealth you want. Money Beliefs = Money Limits We all grow up with “money scripts”. Stories we absorb, mostly from our parents, but also from culture, religion, and our own experience. Things like: “Money is the root of all evil.” or “People like us don’t get rich.” or “You have to work hard to earn a living.” These beliefs live in your subconscious. And even if you’re consciously working toward financial freedom, these old stories can quietly sabotage your progress without you even realizing it. It may seem like this is just a pretty line, but it’s not. You work according to what you think. If you don’t believe certain things are possible for you, you won’t even try to go for them. And if you try but you're full of doubt and fear, you're already making it harder than it needs to be. Remember, we are often our worst enemies… "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." — Carl Jung → Write down 5 money beliefs you heard growing up. Then ask: Is this absolutely true? Who would I be without this belief? What’s a better belief I can choose today? Scarcity vs. Abundance Thinking Scarcity says: “There’s never enough.” Abundance says: “There’s always more where that came from.” Scarcity leads to fear-based decisions like hoarding, overworking, and undercharging. Abundance leads to creative, confident actions like investing in yourself, raising your prices, and seeing opportunity instead of lack. No motivation? Maybe you are living in scarcity… And sure, we all at some point lack something, but living in a constant state of lack does not bring you anything good, no motivation, no opportunities, no moving forward. Just fear, sadness, overthinking, and stagnation… Worse, we can get comfortable in this negative view of life and use it as an excuse to not even want anything different and just conform to what is currently around us. Start acting like someone who believes in growth, more than limits. “Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune into.” — Wayne Dyer → Next time you feel money fear, pause and ask: What would the abundant version of me do here? Wealth Starts in Identity Your brain wants consistency. If deep down you see yourself as someone who’s “bad with money” or “never going to be rich,” your actions will align with that identity. But here’s the magic: identity can change. Start identifying as someone who is intentional with money. Who is learning, growing, and building wealth, even if you’re just getting started. We all start the same, no one is born knowing everything, much less man-made stuff like money, businesses, and laws. So no matter where you are in your journey, you can take the step to change and become a different person. There’s no perfect moment, and it does take time to reach the point where you naturally and automatically just are the new person you decided to be, so the sooner you start, the sooner you’ll get there. Say it. Write it. Believe it. Act it. “Your income can grow only to the extent that you do.” — T. Harv Eker → Finish this sentence: “I am someone who…” ( Make it empowering: “I am someone who creates wealth by being smart, intentional, and bold.”) Last Thoughts: I hope, at this point, that you realize a couple of things: Your thoughts shape your finances. Your mindset becomes your money habits. Your identity drives your financial results. So if you want to build real, lasting wealth, start with the stories in your mind. Rewire those, and the numbers will follow. And don’t do it in a rush, there are so many more beliefs that are not serving us that we just don’t realize it. My advice? Start by being conscious at all times, catch your thoughts, and rewrite them. Little by little, you’ll see, and more importantly, feel the changes, and that, my friend, is victory! P.S. The Vault has a bunch of editions that build on this one, and The Freebies Page has great tools like “The Bare Minimum Budget.” Go explore . See you in a week. Your Zine.
- How to Use AI to 10x Your Personal and Professional
A year ago, the term “AI” still felt abstract to most people. Now? It’s everywhere. But don’t be a fool: AI isn’t just for tech bros and coders. Used well, it can become one of the most powerful tools to accelerate your growth. Personally, professionally, and financially. And no, you don’t need to become a prompt engineer to benefit from it. Today’s ProfitZine breaks down how to use AI to work faster, think clearer, create better, and grow smarter. AI as Your Thinking Partner (Not Replacement) Most people fear AI because they think it’ll replace them. But when you treat it like a collaborator (not a crutch), everything changes. Instead of staring at a blank page, you can brainstorm 10x faster. Instead of struggling to organize ideas, you can map them out in seconds. Instead of doubting yourself, you can get feedback instantly. It’s not about outsourcing your voice, it’s about amplifying it. “The future belongs to those who know how to partner with technology, not fear it.” Try this: Use ChatGPT or Claude to explore ideas you’re stuck on . → Prompt: “Help me think through a content idea about [topic]. Give me 3 angles, 3 title ideas, and 1 counterintuitive insight.” Repeat this for content, offers, storytelling, product names, etc. It’s like having a co-creator in your pocket. Automate What Drains You Let’s be honest: not all work is fulfilling. Some of it just… sucks your energy. The good news? AI can now handle a lot of that. Think: writing tedious emails, summarizing notes, generating ideas, organizing messy documents, transcribing calls, and even repurposing content. “Automation doesn’t remove your value, it removes your friction.” Try this: Use tools like Notion AI, Otter.ai, or ChatGPT to summarize meeting notes, turn bullet points into a paragraph, or draft repetitive emails. Bonus: Use AI to repurpose your content (e.g., turn one newsletter into 5 posts, 2 tweets, and a carousel). Recommended: Notion AI → for task planning + writing ChatGPT → for thinking + writing + brainstorming Descript → for transcriptions + video edits Opus Clip → for short-form video repurposing Claude → for sensitive writing & longer projects → List 3 tasks you dislike doing every week. Google how to AI-ify them. Try one this week. Use AI to Learn Faster One of the best uses of AI? Speeding up how you learn new things. Whether you’re reading a dense book, researching a topic, or trying to understand a concept, AI can help you break it down and apply it. “Learning how to learn is the ultimate competitive edge. AI just made it easier.” Try these: “Summarize this article in 3 key ideas with real-world applications.” “Explain this concept like I’m 10 years old.” “What are 3 ways I could apply this to my business/life?” It’s like having a personal coach, teacher, and idea machine, all in one. Bonus tip: Use it to quiz yourself on what you just learned or to turn notes into action plans. → Pick one thing you’ve been wanting to learn and let AI accelerate it. Ask it to build you a 5-day micro learning plan. Last Thoughts: AI is not a magic wand. It’s a tool. But it’s a tool that, when used intentionally, can 10x how fast you move, how clearly you think, and how effectively you grow. It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing what matters, faster, smarter, and better. Don’t fear it. Get curious. Play. Practice. Because the future isn’t about replacing humans. It’s about supercharging them. → And you? You’re just getting started. See you in a week. Your Zine.
- The Power of Dopamine Detox: How to Reset Your Brain for Focus & Success
Today, let’s talk about something most of us don’t even realize we’re addicted to: stimulation. Not the caffeine kind (although…), but the constant hits of dopamine we get from endless scrolling, inbox refreshing, content-consuming, and multi-tab chaos. Here’s the truth: We live in a world built to hijack your attention. And when everything feels urgent, nothing meaningful gets done. So this week, I want to share a tool that’s helped me massively: the dopamine detox. Let’s reset your brain, reclaim your focus, and get back in the driver’s seat. What Is a Dopamine Detox (Really)? A dopamine detox is a short-term break from activities that overstimulate your brain, such as social media, binge-watching, online shopping, doomscrolling, or over-scheduling and task-hopping. It doesn’t mean you cut out dopamine (you can’t — it’s essential). It means you remove the artificial spikes so your brain can rebalance. The goal? Reduce the noise. Get bored again (yes, really). Make space for deeper focus and clarity. Dopamine isn’t bad. Addiction to stimulation is. → Pick one day this week to detox for 6–12 hours. No phone. No social scroll. No numbing distractions. Replace with stillness, journaling, nature, and silence. Feel the itch, and observe it. That’s where the magic is. The Signs You Might Need a Detox Here’s how to know your brain might be overstimulated: You can’t sit still without grabbing your phone You’re always multitasking, even when relaxing You can’t remember the last time you felt truly clear-headed Work feels “urgent” but unproductive You feel restless even when nothing’s wrong Sound familiar? You’re not broken. You’re just overstimulated. → What do you reach for when you’re bored, anxious, or uncertain? That’s your dopamine gateway. Time to take a break. What Happens When You Detox After a few hours of discomfort… You get clarity. You remember what you actually want to do, not just what you’ve been trained to crave. Benefits people often report: Increased clarity and focus Reduced anxiety and decision fatigue Greater creativity and motivation Better sleep Reconnection with real desires “The ability to focus is a superpower in a world full of distractions.” — Cal Newport → Plan your detox window. Put your phone in another room.Keep a notepad nearby to capture what shows up. Even 3–4 hours can feel like a full brain reset. The Better Way: Feed Your Brain with Natural Dopamine While a dopamine detox is about removing the noise, it’s also about reintroducing natural, sustainable sources of dopamine. The kind that doesn’t fry your brain or hijack your focus. Natural dopamine sources are rooted in real-life, deeply satisfying activities. They come with meaning, movement, or creation. Not just consumption. 🌿 Here’s how to get more of the good kind: Sunshine & Movement Just 20 minutes of sunlight + a walk can elevate your dopamine levels. It’s like nature’s antidepressant. → Start your day with sunlight. No phone, no podcast — just you and the world. Cold Showers & Breathwork Cold exposure spikes dopamine naturally, and the effects last for hours. Breathwork helps regulate the nervous system. → Try a 30-second cold rinse after your normal shower this week. Deep Work & Making Progress Finishing something meaningful gives you a bigger dopamine hit than any scroll ever could. → Block out 1 hour today to work on something that actually matters to you. Music, Laughter, Connection Real conversation, shared laughs, music that moves you, all dopamine goldmines. → Text someone you love. Dance to your favorite song. Laugh on purpose. Nature, Stillness, and Presence Whether it's a beach, forest, or garden, being in nature calms your nervous system and rewires your reward circuit. → Spend 10 minutes outside today without doing anything “productive.” What to Remember: Artificial dopamine hits drain you. Natural ones nourish you. Choose wisely. “Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes — including you.” — Anne Lamott Last Thoughts: Dopamine isn’t your enemy. It’s your compass. But when it’s constantly triggered by low-effort, high-stimulation junk…You lose your sense of direction. Reset your brain.Rebuild your focus.Reclaim your energy. Your attention is your greatest asset. Spend it wisely. If you try this detox, hit reply and let me know how it goes. I’d love to hear your experience. Wishing you space, silence, and sharp clarity this week. P.S. If you haven’t checked out the Freebies Page yet, go now and grab the Freedom Bundle. No strings attached. See you in a week. Your Zine.
- Morning Routines of the Most Successful People (and How to Build Yours)
We often imagine success as a mountain, but what if it's more like a morning? The way you start your day shapes the way you show up in your work, your mindset, and your overall energy. If you’ve been feeling scattered, low-energy, or stuck in reactive mode… this one’s for you. Let’s break down how successful people use their mornings to get ahead, and how you can build a morning routine that fits your life (even if you’re not a “morning person”). Why Mornings Matter More Than You Think Most successful people swear by some form of morning routine (including me), not because we’re obsessed with structure, but because we understand the power of momentum. Your first 1–2 hours set the tone. If you start your day with intention, everything else flows more easily. For me, mornings are to take care of myself and the way this sets me up for the day in a happy and productive mood is bullet proof! And in the days I don’t do it or don’t finish it I feel it in my mind and body. “Lose an hour in the morning, and you will spend all day looking for it.” — Richard Whately → Tomorrow morning, before grabbing your phone, take 5 minutes to check in with yourself. No judgment, just awareness. Common Patterns Among Top Performers Here’s what tends to show up in most “successful” routines (yes, even if they look different on the outside): • Movement: a short walk, light stretch, or workout • Mindset: meditation, journaling, or gratitude • Clarity: reviewing goals, reading, or planning the day • Focus: doing one deep-work task before distractions hit This isn’t about copying someone else’s 5 AM checklist. It’s about choosing 2–3 anchors that energize and align you. For me it’s mindset, movement, and sun light :D “How you do anything is how you do everything.” — Martha Beck → Pick 1 anchor you’ll test this week. Start small. Even 10 minutes counts. How to Design Your Ideal Morning (Step by Step) Let’s build your version of a successful morning, not someone else’s. 1- Know your “why”. What do you want more of: energy? peace? clarity? 2-Set your wake-up time based on your sleep, not an influencer’s calendar 3- Choose 2 core habits (no more) that serve your current goals 4- Create a gentle trigger — e.g., leave your journal on your pillow 5- Track how it makes you feel , not just whether you did it “Win the morning, win the day.” — Tim Ferriss → Use the 5-step checklist above to design your routine. Make it yours. Last Thoughts: Morning routines aren’t magic potions, but they are powerful launchpads. Start simple. Stay consistent. Don’t try to be perfect, try to be present. Because in the end, success is less about squeezing more in… and more about starting from the right place. Let your mornings work for you. P.S. If you don’t want to start from a blank page download this “Morning Routine Builder” template you can use to plan and test your perfect flow. See you in a week. Your Zine.
- How to Build a Brand That Stands Out (Even with Zero Experience)
Let’s be honest: the online world is loud , to say the least. New businesses launch daily. Everyone seems to be selling something. So, how do you stand out, especially when you feel like you're just starting? Good news: standing out doesn’t require a massive budget or a team of experts. But it does require clarity, consistency, and the courage to show up. Whether you’re building your personal brand or launching a business from scratch, today’s ProfitZine breaks down the essentials of creating a brand that gets noticed. Find Your Core Message (And Stick to It) You don’t need to be everything to everyone. In fact, the more specific your message, the more people it resonates with. What do you want to be known for? What are you here to help people with? That’s your core message, and it should be obvious in everything you post, write, or create. “People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.” — Simon Sinek → Write a one-sentence version of your brand’s purpose. Ex: “I help people escape the 9-5 and build a life they actually like.” Repeat it everywhere: your bio, emails, posts, and offers. Use Visuals to Create Recognition You don’t need a designer right away. But you do need visual consistency. Think: same colors, fonts, and style across everything you put out. This helps people recognize you in a scroll. And recognition builds trust. “A brand is not just what it looks like and feels like. A brand is what it makes people feel.” — Jeff Bezos → Choose 2–3 brand colors and 1–2 fonts you’ll use consistently. Use free apps to create templates for posts, Reels covers, or Stories. Make It About Your People Your brand is not really about you; It’s about the people you serve. Use their language. Address their struggles. Share stories they relate to. You become memorable when your audience feels understood. “The most powerful brand messages are the ones that speak directly to people’s hearts.” → Talk to your audience. Ask them what they’re struggling with. Read their comments. Use their words in your content. Show Up Before You Feel Ready You don’t need permission. You don’t need to wait until it’s “perfect.”The brands that stand out are the ones that start showing up. That awkward first post? That shaky first video? That weird first logo? It’s all part of it. “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” — Zig Ziglar → Post something about your mission or values this week . Even if it feels early. You’re building in public. That’s what makes people trust you. Last Thoughts: You don’t need a background in branding to build something powerful. You just need a clear message, a consistent look, a deep connection to your audience, and the guts to show up. Start with what you have. It’s not about looking “professional.” It’s about being real, relevant, and ready to grow. You’ve got this. And if you need help along the way, I’m here. To standing out (your way) P.S. If you’re working on your brand and want feedback or ideas, reply to this email or DM me on Instagram (@patriciaforprofit) . I love to see what you’re building. See you in a week. Your Zine.
- 5 Simple Side Hustles That Can Replace Your 9–5
You already know I’m a fan of side hustles, not just as income streams, but as exits. As building blocks for freedom. But after a few ProfitZines about freelancing, digital products, and skill-based services, you might be wondering: What else is out there? This week, I want to show you 5 new (and still simple) ideas that have helped real people walk away from jobs that drained them, without having to be “influencers” or build an empire. AI Prompt & Template Selling You don’t need to be an AI expert. You just need to spot a problem and create a shortcut. What it is: Selling pre-written ChatGPT prompts or templates for specific tasks (emails, business plans, social captions, lesson plans, etc.) on marketplaces like Gumroad or your own site. Why it works: People want to use AI but don’t want to “figure it out.” A $5–$35 solution that saves them hours? Easy sell. “Opportunities multiply as they are seized.” — Sun Tzu → Think of a task you’ve already solved using AI. Turn it into a template. Add a short how-to. Done. Become a Local Visibility Consultant Forget SEO audits and website design. Most small business owners don’t even know how to update their Google listing. What it is: Helping local businesses improve their online visibility, think: Google Business Profile, simple websites, local reviews, Facebook pages. Why it works: They don’t need fancy. They need findable. And they’ll happily pay someone who can do it fast and clearly. “Don’t find customers for your products. Find products for your customers.” — Seth Godin → Find 3 local businesses with poor online presence. Draft a short pitch offering a quick visibility fix for $50–$150. Test and go. Short-Form Video Editor for Experts No dance trends or captions needed, just clean, helpful clips. What it is: Editing simple reels/TikToks for coaches, freelancers, and small creators. Most record the content and need help making it usable. Why it works: Short-form is high-leverage, but most people hate editing. If you’re even slightly tech-comfy, you can learn fast (CapCut or Canva is enough). “Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.” — Henry David Thoreau → Offer 3 creators a free reel edit to practice. Then charge $25–$100/video. This scales quickly. Micro-Newsletter for a Specific Niche No Substack dreams needed, this is about useful info in 300 words or less. What it is: Starting a short, focused newsletter around a narrow niche, think: “Remote Jobs for Designers,” “Grants for EU Creatives,” “Best AI Tools for Teachers,” etc. Why it works: People want curated value. If your newsletter saves them time or earns them money, it can grow and monetize fast (via affiliate links, ads, or paid versions). “Be so specific they think it was made for them.” — Joanna Wiebe → Choose your niche and brainstorm 5 newsletter topics. Set up a free Beehiiv or ConvertKit page. Start posting. Sell a Service-Adjacent Digital Product Don’t quit your skill, scale it differently. What it is: Turning your freelance service (like design, email writing, branding, editing, etc.) into a product e.g., a checklist, template pack, or starter guide. Why it works: Many people can’t afford the full service but still want a piece of your process. These products run on autopilot. Don’t wait for perfection. Create, launch, learn, repeat. → Take one piece of your service process. Package it. Put it on a $5–$40 digital product page. Promote once a week. Last Thoughts: Freedom doesn’t come from following what everyone else is doing, it comes from testing what works for you. Every idea above can be launched in a weekend. You don’t need to believe it’ll replace your job immediately. You just need to believe that one hour a day is a worthwhile investment. Because it is. Always. P.S. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by options, reply and tell me where you’re stuck. I’ll help you choose your next move. See you in a week. Your Zine.
- The 5-Hour Rule and How Everyone Can Stay Ahead
Do you feel like you’re falling behind somehow? Like everyone else knows something you don’t, either in business, finances, etc? I sure felt that way before. Here’s a simple idea that helped me shift that mindset completely: Most successful people aren’t “ahead” because they’re smarter; They just carve out time to keep growing every day, it’s a priority. Enter the 5-Hour Rule. This concept changed the way I think about learning, and it might do the same for you. What Is the 5-Hour Rule? The 5-Hour Rule is a concept used by people like Bill Gates, Oprah, and Elon Musk. It’s the habit of dedicating at least one hour a day, at least five days a week, to deliberate learning. Not scrolling. Not multitasking.Just pure, focused time spent improving your mind. This could be: Reading nonfiction; Practicing a skill; Writing and reflecting; Watching a talk or taking a course (without distractions). It’s not about consuming more. It’s about intentional growth. Knowledge is the most important tool to change and improve your life. You can’t do what you don’t know. You miss chances because you pass on learning. I’ve been there. “The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled.” — Plutarch → Block 1 hour in your calendar this week and label it “Growth Time.” Start with 1 hour total if every day feels like too much, and build up from there. Why It Works The 5-Hour Rule works because it turns learning into a habit, not a luxury. And habits beat motivation every time. It also creates a compound effect:1 hour/day × 5 days/week × 52 weeks = 260 hours/year. That’s over six 40-hour weeks of focused personal growth. And this is just the beginning, once you start making learning and growing a priority, you don’t just stop, you increase that hour a day and those 5 days, even if you work a 9-5. And trust me, if for some reason you spend 1 day without this “hour,” you will miss it. “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” — Benjamin Franklin → Pick one thing you want to get better at. Then spend your next “Growth Hour” diving into it. But I Don’t Have Time... This is the part where we usually talk ourselves out of it. “I’m too busy.” “I’ll do it after I finish this project.” “I don’t even know where to start.” And it’s normal, anything new our mind is going to question and try to stay away based on the fear of the unknown. But don’t let it win, don’t overthink, just do it. Here’s the truth: if you’re always reacting, you never get ahead. The 5-Hour Rule is how you stop reacting and start designing your life. Not to be rough with you, but some tough love never hurt anyone: If I could work a 9–6 job, study something completely new, and freelance on the side for 6 months (without burning out or neglecting my health), then you can carve out just 1 hour a day to invest in yourself and grow. Fair enough? “You will never find time for anything. If you want time, you must make it.” — Charles Buxton →Audit your screen time. Can you swap 1 hour of social media or Netflix this week for a learning session? Last Thoughts: There’s no magic to success, just small, consistent decisions, and a lot of resilience. Spending 5 hours a week learning is a choice anyone can make, no matter your background, goals, or current schedule. If it’s the first thing of the day or the last is up to you and your current life. This is one of the simplest ways to future-proof yourself. Smart people don’t wait for change, they learn their way into it. It’s a decision followed by action. You can do it too. Nothing is stopping you. You already have what it takes. Just take the first step. P.S. Want a free resource to kickstart your Growth Hour? Head to the Freebies page and download the Freedom Starter Guide or the Skill Builder List. See you in a week. Your Zine.
- How to Master Stress (Instead of Letting It Master You)
Let’s talk about something we all deal with almost daily, no matter who we are and what we do — stress. But this isn’t another “just meditate and breathe” type of message. Because the truth is: stress isn’t always the enemy . In fact, when used the right way, it can actually work for you. Today, I want to break down how to master your stress, instead of letting it run the show. Stress Isn’t Always Bad There are two types of stress: one that destroys you, and one that drives you. Believe it or not, we all have experience with both. The first kind is chronic, heavy, and unrelenting, and is what we think of most often. That’s the kind that leads to burnout, brain fog, and sleepless nights. Clearly the one we do not want, ever. But there’s another kind: eustress. The kind that gets you moving, focused, fired up. Eustress is what helps you hit deadlines, step outside your comfort zone, or power through a project. I like to call this one enthusiasm! It’s not about eliminating stress completely; that’s pretty much impossible. It’s about harnessing the right kind. And on a personal note, you can definitely transform stress into enthusiasm every time! “It’s not stress that kills us, it is our reaction to it.” — Hans Selye → Notice what kind of stress you’re feeling today. Is it helping you move forward, or shutting you down? You Can’t Control Everything, but You Can Control Your Response You can’t stop your boss from being a micromanager. You can’t pause life when things pile up. But you can choose how you respond, always, even when it’s hard. Stress becomes toxic when you resist it, avoid it, or hyper-focus on it like a soap opera. It becomes manageable when you name it and meet it head-on. To be more clear, no overthinking about it, just taking note and taking action. Start by building micro-habits that support your nervous system: daily walks, screen breaks, journaling, and water before coffee. This will make your body and mind stronger to deal with future stress easily. “Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose.” — Viktor Frankl → Choose one micro-habit today that supports your energy instead of draining it. Repeat it this week. When Stress Hits Like a Bullet You know the moment, your heart races, your chest tightens, your thoughts spiral. Stress doesn’t creep in slowly, it slams you hard. What do you do then? Start by interrupting the spiral. Drop your shoulders, unclench your jaw, put both feet flat on the ground, and say to yourself (out loud if you can): “This is just an automatic response.” Then ask: What triggered this? (Don’t judge, just notice.) What’s actually urgent, and what just feels urgent? What would help me feel 5% better right now? “You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.” — Jon Kabat-Zinn → Create a “calm cue” . One small thing you can do immediately when you feel stress flood your body. For me, is a specific arm and hand movement, as I’m literally pulling the stress down and telling it to shut up. Stress Can Be a Signal, Not Just a Symptom What if your stress is trying to tell you something? This one might sound weird, but since I started to do this, I respond way better to stress. We should not forget we are a complex, magical, and efficient human machine. Your body always tells you what it needs and what is too much, and if you don’t make space to hear it, some part eventually will crumble. And you definitely don’t want that! Take it from someone who has known depression and burnout, you want to take charge before and prevent it, not pick up the pieces after. Sometimes stress is your body’s way of saying, “This isn’t aligned.” Or “You’re doing too much.” Or even, “You’re ready for something bigger.” If you keep pushing through without pausing to ask why you’re stressed, you miss the message, and you damage yourself with no need. “The wound is the place where the light enters you.” — Rumi → Answer this question today: What is my stress trying to tell me? (Even if it feels like a whisper, listen.) Last Thoughts: You don’t have to be stress-free to live a good life. You just need to build a better relationship with stress — one where it serves you, not suffocates you. The goal isn’t to avoid discomfort forever. The goal is to grow strong enough to hold it, move with it, and still choose peace. One step at a time. P.S. Want to explore more tools for managing your energy and building your version of freedom? - Why Most People Never Reach Their Goals (and How to Fix It)
Let’s talk about something that hits close to home: Most people never reach their goals. Not because they’re lazy or unmotivated — but because the way they set goals is broken from the start. I’ve seen it happen to myself, to friends, and I’m betting you’ve seen it too. So today, we’re breaking down what actually keeps people stuck, and how to finally start moving in a direction that works. Most goals are built on fantasy, not facts Here’s what most people do: they set vague, dreamy goals with no plan. “I want to make more money.” “I want to quit my job.” “I want to be free.” Amazing desires — but no specifics. When your goals are too big or too blurry, your brain can’t latch onto them. So you delay. You procrastinate. You tinker around the edges and call it “progress.” And then you start believing the worst thing: that it’s you who’s the problem. You’re not. Your strategy is. “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry → Break your goal down into something you can act on in the next 7 days. Example: Instead of “make more money” try “send a pitch to 1 client” or “look into 3 side hustle ideas.” You’re trying to do too much at once I see this all the time. I experience it too when I first started changing my life. You get fired up, set 12 goals, try to do them all in one month — and crash. The truth? You don’t need more discipline. You need less overload. Simplicity is your superpower. Focus creates momentum. If you do one thing consistently, it will snowball. But if you do five things inconsistently, you’ll stay in the same spot. “You can do anything, but not everything.” – David Allen → This week, choose ONE goal that matters to you and go all in. Just for a week. See what happens when you narrow your focus. You’re skipping the “why” Most people think they need motivation. What they actually need is meaning. If you don’t know why you’re doing something, you won’t keep doing it when things get boring, hard, or slow. Your “why” doesn’t have to be poetic or deep. It just has to be true. When you tie your goals to your values, you’ll show up even on the hard days. “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.” – Friedrich Nietzsche → Ask yourself: Why does this matter to me? What will my life look like when I reach this goal, and why does that future excite me? Something most people avoid when it comes to goals It’s not the planning that’s hard, it’s not the strategy, it’s not even the lack of time. It’s this: They never build the identity to match the goal. They try to lose weight while still thinking like someone who hates working out. They want to be a full-time creator while still calling it a “side project.” They want financial freedom while repeating, “I’m bad with money.” The truth is: Your identity is always fighting for the life it believes you deserve. So if you keep holding on to your old patterns, labels, and beliefs — it’ll be nearly impossible to build something new. "Success is something you attract by the person you become." — Jim Rohn How to fix it 1| Upgrade your self-talk: Catch and reframe the “I can’t” and the “I’m not” and the “I’ve never been good at…” thoughts. Speak like the person you’re becoming. Use more the “I am” the “I will” and the “I can”. 2| Focus on actions over outcomes: Set identity-based goals. Instead of “I want to make $10K” try: “I want to become someone who sells confidently and consistently.” This one did wonders for me! 3| Build evidence: Do small things that prove you are that kind of person. You don’t need a 5-year plan. Just proof that you’re showing up differently now. And if you’re lost on the doing just recap your life for evidence. I guarantee you already have proof that you can do different things, and reach goals… These shifts are subtle — but powerful. You don’t reach your goals and then become that person. You become that person first. Then the goals follow. → You don’t need to change everything at once. Just keep becoming more of the person who gets what they want. The results always catch up. Last Thoughts: If you’ve been feeling stuck, behind, or like you’re not making real progress — you’re not alone, and you don’t need to be more motivated, more productive, or more perfect. You need a clearer plan, a strong “why,” and the courage to change. You can get there. And I hope this was the nudge you needed today. <3 P.S. - How to Negotiate Like a Pro and Save Thousands
Let’s talk about a skill that can literally save (or make) you thousands over a lifetime: negotiation. If you're new here this might sound intimidating, right? But the truth is: you don’t have to be slick, loud, or pushy to negotiate well. You just need to be prepared, calm, and clear on what you want. We already dug into the topic of negotiation last year, you can read those editions in the Vault, just click here . But it is always worth remembering that it is a life saving skill. Here’s how I started getting better at it — and how you can too. Negotiation is Everywhere Whether you’re negotiating rent, a freelance rate, a car price, or even your internet bill — the same principles apply. And yet, most people avoid it because: → it feels awkward → they don’t want to be “difficult” → or they assume they won’t win But you don’t need to win every time. You just need to speak up more than you don’t. This for me was a big step, I was raised to not ask for things like discounts or even try to negotiate pretty much anything, but as I grow older I realize that there’s nothing wrong with asking, and the people that ask generally get better results. → Analize what your beliefs around negotiation are. If negative, changed them. Ask, Then Be Quiet The #1 tactic that changed everything for me was silence. Say your number or ask your question — then stop talking. Silence feels uncomfortable, so most people keep justifying themselves. But when you stay quiet, the other side usually fills the silence — and often agrees or makes a better offer. You don’t need a script, just something like: “Is there any flexibility on the price?” “Could we look at other options within my budget?” “What can we do to make this work for both of us?” The first few times might feel nerve-wracking. But confidence builds quickly. Especially when it starts saving you real money. → Try it this week. Ask for a discount, a lower fee, a better deal — and wait. You Don’t Get What You Don’t Ask For Negotiation isn’t about being aggressive. It’s about respecting your own value — and opening the door for possibility. If you’ve ever walked away from a situation thinking, “I should’ve said something…” — let this be your sign to start now. No special title or experience required. Just a willingness to ask. And not to be repetitive but if you don’t ask, you don’t get what you want. Worse! You don’t even try, and that yes, makes it impossible… Don’t close the door in your own face, please. Last Thoughts: Negotiating isn’t a battle. It’s a conversation. And the more you practice, the more normal it gets.Start with small things — and you’ll be surprised how quickly it adds up. Remember, you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Also, everything we do for the first time feels hard and uncomfortable, that’s just another day for a freedom-seeker, so you can’t let it stop you. → This week, challenge yourself to negotiate one thing — even if it’s just a late checkout or a cheaper phone bill. See you in a week. Your Zine.
- Mistakes New Entrepreneurs Make (and How to Avoid Them)
Starting something new feels like standing at the edge of a cliff. There’s excitement, fear, hope, and doubt, all at once. Especially when you're stepping into entrepreneurship, and while mistakes are part of the deal (they teach us fast), some are just... avoidable. So let’s talk about a few of the most common ones, and how to sidestep them: Trying to do everything yourself. You don’t have to wear every hat. Delegating (or delaying) can save your sanity. I struggle with this myself, I think we all at least like to think we can and therefore try to do everything ourselves, and it can do wonders for learning and getting experience in every aspect of your life. But it’s not a long-term solution because either you burn out or the work starts suffering and losing quality. My advice? Sure, try doing everything at least once for the sake of knowing how to. It might even work for you if you focus on 1 thing only, but when the work starts piling up, please get help. -> Make a list of all the things you are in charge of. Reflect on the load you are putting on yourself, maybe it’s time for a change..? Obsessing over the “perfect” brand. Done is better than perfect, and I know I’m always saying that on the livestreams but seriously, launch first, polish later. Can’t tell how much less time it took me to create the ProfitZine’s second website in comparison with the first one (that was more about my freelance work). Ended up much more satisfied with the new one also, and analytically it performs much, much better. Meaning, take action! You will learn so much faster aka getting a lot better when you take action sooner than later. We can theorize all we want but we never know for sure until we try. -> Be honest. Do you have a dream/business/product brewing in your head for months if not years now? - Let the world see it! Underestimating how long things take. Everything takes longer than you think. Plan for that. Patience is part of the profit. Even today I still make wrong guesses about the time something will take me, sure I’m a lot more accurate because of repetition but still, always count on it. My advice? Plan your days on a short list. Then you make another list with the not urgent tasks you take care of when you’re finished with the must-get-done tasks for each day. - > Try this. Put a timer every time you start a new task. Is the fastest way I know to get really good, real quick, on planning. Ignoring marketing because it feels “salesy.” If no one knows you exist, no one buys from you so you need to learn to show up, consistently. This was a hard truth for me, I really needed to get into sales and marketing somehow because I was going to be my own boss but I did not want to. At first was a whole thing, I did not understand sales, I only witnessed very bad examples of sellers, always with the impression they were just tricking people to make money. I did not have the right mindset, or realize that selling something is solving a problem for someone else , but as soon as I got that part solved, it was just doing, doing, doing. My Advice? Learn marketing as soon as possible, get a job as a setter, and just get your hands dirty with selling and marketing because there’s no better way of learning than practice. -> If you can’t “get your hands dirty” you can listen to industry experts on a ton of podcasts these days. There’s no excuse for not learning.… Thinking revenue means success. Cash flow is what keeps you alive so track it and respect it. Revenue does look good in presentations and it’s great for marketing purposes but don’t forget what really matters! This is the golden first big level: having a steady and growing (almost guaranteed) cash flow. And when we talk cash flow, we talk profit, after taxes… This is where your life will change the most. Worth reminding that making money is one thing, keeping it and growing it is another, so no matter how much you have don’t spend it all! My advice? If you have 3 bucks, use 1, invest 1, and save 1. Of course, you adjust this to your main goals, and it’s always nice to use the 1 by giving it away. Last Thoughts: Most of us make at least one of these mistakes. And it’s fine. They are all part of the game, and you learn and grow with every mistake you make. Entrepreneurship isn’t a test you pass — it’s a skill you build. Start small, stay flexible, and don’t be afraid to shift your approach. You don’t have to do it perfectly. You just have to keep going. "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." – Winston Churchill -> Ask yourself, “What am I doing that someone else could do 80% as well as me?” That’s your first delegate. See you in a week. Your Zine.
